Brendan is an Irish American entrepreneur and has gained his experience in the construction industry. He was successful in creating a thriving contracting business based in New York focusing on domestic and commercial properties over the last 30 years. In 2005, Brendan was looking for a new challenge and an investment opportunity whereas he turned his attention to the Waste and Renewable Energy Sector. After learning about the Wilson System®, Brendan became a major shareholder and a premier investor aiding in bringing the technology to life. As the sole representative of the Wilson System® in North America, Brendan has created Hughes Energy Group to which his team is the main selling agent for this territory.

Dane is dual US/Irish national, and the Principal and Chief Executive Officer of Hughes Energy. McSpedon is first and foremost a builder of companies and a strategic sales professional. With over 25 years’ experience in international business, Dane started his career in Russia establishing and managing the local affiliates for IBM Inc, Honeywell Inc, and Kelly Services Inc. in the 90s/00s.
McSpedon managed 18 country affiliates and established sales distributors in over 65 countries while running Global Sales and Services at De La Rue, the UK banknote printer. McSpedon also established new operations in Central and South America for AVA, an international secure logistics company. McSpedon has been an advisor to Brendan Hughes and Hughes Energy since 2013, raised Series A financing and has attracted key members of the Hughes Management Team.

Jatish has over 30 years of experience in finance, accounting and operations management, in an international environment. He has held Finance Director and CFO positions for over 15 Years within diverse industries. His extensive experience has been gained within multinational organisations, SME businesses, developing and growing start-ups, business consulting, investment raising and working with both Venture Capital and Private Equity. Jatish has detailed experience of financial and accounting management which covers the spectrum from day-to-day operations, budgeting & cash flow planning and execution, business planning, business analysis and succession planning. He has travelled extensively on numerous business projects and is aware of the impact of cultural and economic business dynamics in both emerging and developed markets and bringing new technology to market.
Shah, is a British citizen, has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies, from the City of London Polytechnic. He is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) and a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
Dr. Frank DarConte
(Director and Head of Program Management)
Frank is a licensed architect and an experienced leader within all areas of building construction and construction management. Throughout his 35-year industry career, he had progressed through a series of industry positions including project field superintendent, project manager and project executive. In those capacities he participated in more than $1 billion worth of construction projects including highly visible, large-scale NYC metro area projects. He is the managing principal of Garrison Advisory and previously served as Vice President for Planning and Development for The DeMatteis Organizations. Working with project teams across the company’s real estate development and construction services network, he facilitated a deliberate company-wide focus on value-based innovation and collaboration.
Dr. DarConte holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the New York University Tandon School of Engineering where he is a faculty member in the Department of Civil & Urban Engineering. His research interests are focused on construction project delivery and the building of high-performance teams. He also earned an MS in City and Regional Planning from Pratt Institute and a BS in Architectural Technology from New York Institute of Technology. He serves as the faculty advisor for the NYU student chapter of the Associated General Contractors of New York State and on the Board of Directors of the Society of American Military Engineers.
Sheila Hughes McStravick

Sheila has watched the technology grow since the development of our first commercial scale demonstrator plant in Ireland in 2005. During the technology’s start up years, she carried out her work placement with the Wilson Team in Ireland while completing her undergraduate degree. In the course of her career, she worked as a Quality and Environmental Manager in the metal finishing services which included galvanizing and powder coating. She also worked as a Lab Quality Officer offering analytical services for compliance analysis for soils, discharge waters and waste classification. In these industries she gained experience in internal auditing and working to UKAS, ISO and OHSAS standards. Sheila works closely with the Research and Development team at Wilson Bio-Chemical on the production of homogenous biogenic material from MSW using The Wilson System® focusing on the conversion of these materials into solid and liquid biofuels and high value platform chemicals.
Hughes holds a BS from Fairfield University with a double major in Business Management and Environmental Studies. She earned her MSc in Environmental Management from Queens University Belfast and completed a Certificate in Marketing Strategy from Cornell University. Sheila is a dual Irish/US national residing in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Bari is General Counsel at Hughes Energy Group and has spent over 20 years practicing at some of the most prestigious global law firms in New York. She has supervised legal teams worldwide and has extensive management experience as the Founder, former CEO and General Counsel of a non-profit organization. Zahn operates as a tax attorney, business advisor and general counsel and has represented a broad array of multinational clients on U.S. and cross-border transactions across all industry sectors. She handles complex legal tax structuring matters, employment law and cross-border transactions, as well as advising high-net-worth clients and families on cross-border trust and estate tax planning, business succession and life and legacy planning. Zahn has represented Fortune 500 companies, CEOs, COOs and other C-Suite executives on general corporate, employment, tax, real estate and other business matters.
Zahn started her legal career at the United States Tax Court where from 1996 to 1998 she clerked for the Honorable Carolyn Miller Parr. While at her former firms, Ms. Zahn’s practice focused on a broad spectrum of U.S. and cross-border transactions, including stock and asset acquisitions, tax-free mergers, recapitalizations and similar corporate reorganizations. She also handled tax controversy matters, including the representation of clients before the IRS and the New York.
Mark was appointed Chairman of Invest Northern Ireland in 2012 and has been Chairman of SSE (Ireland) since 2010. In 2013 he was appointed as a Non-Executive Director of Liberty Insurance Ltd where he also serves as Chairman of the Risk Committee and a member of the Audit Committee. In addition he is a Non-Executive Director of a number of small start-up companies operating in the Connected Health and Pharmaceutical Sectors. Mark was appointed to an advisory panel for the review of Health and Social Care in 2011 and from 2012 –2013 he was appointed to serve on a Task and Finish Group. Mark has served as Chairman of CBI Northern Ireland, he currently serves on CBI Business Committee, and he was a Chairman of the Management Leadership Network and is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Management.
The steam autoclave designer and chief engineer, Tom Wilson, has over 50 years’ experience in the steam industry and could arguably be the most distinguished authority on steam storage in the world. Tom had carried out his apprenticeship under the leading steam engineers to which all his unique knowledge and expertise is owed. Tom has worked in a variety of industries, including but not exclusive to steel, textiles, food, biotechnology and polystyrene. Over the last 10 years, Tom has targeted the waste industry and has been able to prove that steam autoclaving municipal solid waste is a genuine answer to a serious environmental issue.
Our Research and Development Director, Pete Metcalf has over 40 years’ experience of chemical engineering. Pete started his career in the textiles industry as a process chemist moving on to international sales, predominantly in the Middle East and Latin America. Since early 2000 Pete had changed his focus and worked in research and development in the waste sector.
Peter C Fusaro
Since Earth Day 1970, Peter Fusaro has a long history of commitment to innovative clean energy technology that foster economic growth. He has become a sought after chief business strategist for clean energy, natural gas and water technology initiatives and has been involved in the launch and expansion of some of the world’s most successful and game changing technologies of our time.
Peter is the best selling author of What Went Wrong at Enron, and is an industry thought leader noted for his keen insights on emerging energy and environmental technology and markets particularly renewable energy. He has catalyzed the revolution in clean energy and water futures, and is focused on impact investing and sustainability. Peter created the renewable energy project finance course at Columbia University still being taught there today. Peter is founder of the 18th Annual Wall Street Green Summit, the oldest sustainable finance event in North America, (www.wsgts.com) held in New York on March 25, 2019.
Brad Steele is an Advisor to Hughes Energy and is currently Managing Director at Amazon Web Services, leading a global business unit of hundreds of employees across 22 countries responsible for building and executing on AWS's strategy for ensuring adoption of AWS amongst the world’s technology startups. Prior to joining AWS in 2011, he spent 18 years in the venture finance industry. Steele was a Senior Vice President and Managing Director at several specialty finance funds and banks, providing venture debt and equity to early and expansion-stage technology startups. During his career in the venture finance industry, he provided over $350,000,000 in seed, expansion and growth capital to over 250 startups across the U.S.
Steele is also an LP and advisor to multiple venture capital seed funds. Steele holds a BA from Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania and an MBA from The George
Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Saira Nazneen is the Business Development Director for Hughes Energy. Saira brings a breadth of international business experience from 25 years in banking, manufacturing, and Government. During her time in these industries she has covered many roles including project management, service management, sales and account management.
Nazneen has had the privilege of working with some of the most influential Central Banks in the world on matters of significant importance including banknote policy and new note designs.
